Product Overview

The LMC-5 is Luxman's first new moving coil cartridge in around forty years, and it arrives with the quiet confidence of a design that took its time. A cross mounted iron core MC engine with a compact samarium cobalt magnetic system generates 0.4mV from just 4.7 ohms of internal impedance, an easy load for most phono stages. A solid diamond Shibata stylus on a 0.5mm aluminium cantilever traces the groove with real composure across 10Hz to 35kHz. The anodised deep red aluminium body uses an inverted egg shaped curve to suppress resonance, and every unit is hand assembled in Japan.
